Is Group Exporter for FB free?
Yes. No paid plan, no member limit, no account.
What does the CSV contain?
One row per member with: User Id, Username, Is Verified, Friendship Status, Group Bio, Join Status Text, Extracted At, Profile Url and Avatar. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. See how to open it properly.
Does it export emails or phone numbers?
No. Facebook doesn’t show those on member lists, and Group Exporter only saves what the members page shows you.
Can I export any group?
Only members that Facebook shows to your account. Some groups only show the full list to members or admins, and people who blocked you won’t appear. We recommend exporting groups you manage.
Is it allowed?
Facebook’s Terms say you may not collect data from its products using automated means without its permission, and privacy laws like GDPR may apply to any member list you keep. Using Group Exporter is your decision and responsibility. Use it to run your own group (welcoming, moderating, tracking growth), keep files private, and never use them for unsolicited messages.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser with your own Facebook session. There’s no server, no account and no tracking: the data goes from Facebook straight to your CSV file.
Does it need my Facebook password?
No. It uses the session you’re already logged into in Chrome. Never give your Facebook password to any extension.
The export paused. What do I do?
Facebook may be limiting requests. Wait a few minutes, raise the request interval in settings, then click continue. Members already found are kept. More in export not working: 6 fixes.
Can I stop at a certain number of members?
Yes. Set a member limit (200, 500, 1k, 5k or 10k) in settings. The export pauses there, and you can continue past it if you want.
Why does it show “in review” on the Chrome Web Store?
Group Exporter for FB is new and was waiting for Chrome Web Store review when this page was written. The install link works as soon as the review is done.
Is Group Exporter made by Facebook?
No. It’s an independent extension and isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Meta or Facebook.
